Komplizen was founded in 1999 by Janine Jackowski and Maren Ade, as a feature film production company. Jonas Dornbach joined them as partner and producer in 2010. Komplizen Film has produced and co-produced over 30 award-winning films such as Ade’s three films to date, and titles from Radu Jude, Miguel Gomes, Nadav Lapid and Valeska Grisebach. In 2019, it established Komplizen Serien, a sister company for serial formats, and made its first series SKYLINES for Netflix, produced by David Keitsch.

Recent film productions include Oh, This Unspeakable Void (Simon Verhoeven), Sentimental Value (Joachim Trier) and Maria (Pablo Larraín).
